I Need Your Opinions!

I am planning a trip to Washington, D.C. in March and Nashville and Memphis, TN in May. I need help from those who either live there or have been there to suggest places to eat. I'm looking at no more than $10-$15 per dish. I also welcome coffee shops and places to snack. Also, recommendations on places to see in Nashville and Memphis in general is much appreciated. I think we are stopping in Louisville, KY on the way home. I have been to Washington, D.C. once before, and the reason why I'm going back is the group I'm going with is touring The White House. The Nashville/Memphis trip is a graduation gift. I wasn't supposed to find out so early haha

I can't help you on places to eat, but I hope you have a great time and I can't wait to read your trip report!

I really enjoyed the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, and the Ryman is terrific. If you're into history, Andrew Jackson's home is just east of town--The Hermitage.

Memphis has a couple of decent art museums--one is right down town under another building. It's got mostly eastern art, but I remember being quite amazed that it was there. The Civil Rights Museum is there too, but I've never been to it. There's also a Mississippi River museum down in the middle of the river and they had the original Memphis Belle plane down there when I went about 6-8 years ago. And of course, Beale Street is a great place for both food and music. But I can't remember any specific places we ate then other than the original Corky's restaurant. You might check Southern Living online for restaurant recommendations if you don't get any really good responses. I live in East Tennessee, and Nashville is 3 hours drive and Memphis is close to 6 or 7 hours away. This is the best I can do.

Safe (and fun) trip.
Shan

If you don't go to the Redezvous while in Memphis, you're crazy.
